Bare Dubs Records emerged in the summer of 2006 in support of the already thriving free dubstep and grime mix download site, Barefiles, which evolved into a cornerstone of the community, offering emerging talents the same exposure opportunities as established artists by hosting and allowing uploads of DJ mixes. In the summer of 2007, Barefiles launched an online shop, featuring vinyl records from Bare Dubs and other labels.

Bare Dubs was created to amplify the voices of producers worldwide who have yet to see their work released on vinyl. Founded by Deapoh, the label debuted with three 10" records, distinguishing itself from the standard 12" format with a nod to the tradition of dubplates. Subsequent releases, 004 and 005, embraced the 12" format. The label showcased artists from Australia, Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

In 2023, Bare Dubs made a triumphant return with the release of a limited edition 10" hand-cut vinyl. The inaugural release showcased two tracks from 2008, representing a collaboration between Deapoh and Cessman. Moving forward, the label is dedicated to spotlighting further releases from this dynamic duo while also promoting other artists by bringing their music to vinyl format.
